A private note, left public
I had written this to myself. Private things are often unsurprising when said aloud.
Do not make the painting more interesting than the afternoon that produced it.
Do not explain the monsoon. The monsoon does not explain you.
If someone wants a work, they will write. Your job is to keep the studio kind, the packing honest, and the prices unembarrassed.
